Keep it clean! Clean eating on the go.

It’s that time of the year when many of us are (usually – hello 2020!) traveling to spend time with family, or vacationing or just running around crazy-style getting it all done! It may seem difficult to stick to clean eating while you’re on the go, especially while traveling. But the truth is, it can be done! You just need to be a little prepared and in the know.

My family spends a bit of time in airports and let’s be real, there aren’t too many healthy options. You can find some though! You can always grab a banana at Starbucks, or a healthy salad at some of the restaurants. But it definitely helps to bring your own snacks, and if it’s going to be a long travel day, something more substantial too. I like to pack healthy prepackaged options like Larabars, trail mix or seaweed crackers, and I’ll sometimes bring some homemade clean eating options like Pumpkin Chia Muffins or Choc Maca Bliss Balls or veggie filled sandwiches and wraps. Check out our Snacks section for delish recipes and options.

Or give this list a go:

Nuts, dried fruit, whole fruits like apples or bananas with nut or seed butter, baby carrots, olives, chopped veggies like carrots or celery with hummus, popcorn (with nutritional yeast), grapes, cherry tomatoes, mandarins.

It’s a great idea to bring your own water bottle, and while you can’t bring water through airport security, you can always fill it up at a water fountain once you’re on the other side.

If you’re doing the road trip thang, bring a little cooler and pack some cold options like plain yogurt with chopped fruit (watch for the pre-mixed ones, they contain a lot of sugar), or some guacamole or hummus.

Be sure to let me know what your favorite on-the-go clean snacks are in the comments section below.

Stay healthy.

Love,

Claire.
